The Nothe Fort Picture

The Nothe Fort
The Nothe Fort is a Victorian Fort built to protect Weymouth Harbour, the bay and Portland Harbour, after its years of occupation by the military, the Nothe Fort spent many years derelict, suffering vandalism until it was rescued and opened as a museum. Today the Nothe Fort is open as a museum where it tells the history of Weymouth from the Roman invasion through to the present day. The Nothe Fort offers fantastic views - probably the best views in Weymouth from its ramparts, out across Weymouth Harbour, Portland Harbour, the surrounding coastline and Weymouth beach. The Nothe Fort offers picnic facilities as well as a café.
