A picture of Sandy Weymouth Beach
Weymouth Beach is a fine sandy beach. Starting at the pier, Weymouth seafront runs right down to Bowleaze cove, passing Greenhill gardens and Lodmoor country park. As you walk along Weymouth beach, it turns from sand to pebbles as you walk in the direction towards Bowleaze. The dog beach Weymouth end of the beach (closest to Weymouth pier - signs tell you where dogs are allowed on Weymouth beach), is fine golden sands and is where most of the Weymouth beach activities can be found. This end of Weymouth beach is where Weymouth really does produce that traditional old English seaside feel, with one of the worlds last - the Weymouth Punch and Judy show, traditional seaside Weymouth beach donkeys, plenty of kids attractions and refreshment huts.

The sand on Weymouth beach is fine and golden making it one of the best beaches in Dorset and the south coast, perfect for soaking up the sun. With gently sloping sands down to the calm water, its not hard to see why King George visited Weymouth so frequently to bath in the 'health giving waters' all those centuries ago. Throughout the summer, Weymouth beach is packed with holiday makers enjoying the sun, be it on the beach or hiring a deckchair for the day.

On Weymouth Esplanade, you often find classic car meets and events taking place and across the road there are plenty of Weymouth beach hotels overlooking Weymouth beach and that beautiful Jurassic coast out towards the Nothe and Lulworth in the other direction.

The Weymouth beach picture here shows Weymouth sandy beach with probably the most dominating of the Weymouth beach hotels in the background on the Georgian Esplanade. Weymouth beach gets packed in the summer when its wise to find a place early. Weymouth seafront hotels and bed and breakfasts are also very busy throughout the season so its advisable to book early. The Weymouth beach hotels and bed and breakfasts run along a good part of the seafront, there are also plenty of hotels with views across Weymouth harbour, as well as lots of Weymouth harbour cottage holiday lets.

Free attractions in Weymouth....

Throughout the year Weymouth hosts a number of free events, from festivals in the summer to events such as the Weymouth bonfire night and fireworks display. Weymouth also hosts fireworks displays on certain days throughout the year.
