Weymouth beach walks
Walks along Weymouth beach offer some of the most delightful sights around Weymouth including views across the Jurassic coast out towards Lulworth as well as the Osmington White Horse. In the other direction you have views out towards Weymouth pier, the Nothe Fort and the Isle of Portland. There are a number of cruise ships in Weymouth Bay now (2020), the cruise ships in Weymouth bay have been moored here for some time and have proved quite an attraction. Theres always plenty of Weymouth bay ships and boats to admire from the beach, whether its a pleasure boat, a boat trip, fishing boats, patrol boats or large commercial ships, all are frequently spotted in the bay. You can get Weymouth bay boat trips from the harbour including speedboat rides, fishing charters and short cruises around the coast.

King George III Weymouth
Highlights on land as you walk along the seafront include reminders of King George III Weymouth visits. King George III Weymouth visits were frequent, initially on the advice of his physicians and laterly due to his love of the resort. Gloucester lodge on Weymouth seafront provided the residence for King George while in the resort. A replica bathing machine and the King George III statue can be found on an island on Weymouth seafront. The White Horse at Osmington is another reminder of King George III Weymouth affection, carved into the hillside in tribute to his visits to this resort. The Osmington White horse can be seen from Weymouth beach or you can visit the Osmington White horse viewing point where there is a carpark as you head out towards Osmington. The Queen Victoria Jubilee clock on Weymouth seafront is about halfway along, the colourful ornate Jubilee clocktower is a key feature of Weymouth seafront and one of many such clocks around the country erected to celebrate the golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria, towards the other end of the seafront, a statue of Queen Victoria can be seen.

Attractions on Weymouth seafront include a funfair and amusement arcade at Alexandra gardens and towards the other end of the seafront are the colourful Greenhill gardens - a popular place to relax off Greenhill beach. Beautiful views can be seen across Weymouth bay, a cafe and music events regularly through the year make it a popular spot. Other peaceful gardens include the Weymouth Nothe Gardens with fantastic views from all sides, lots of picnic areas and parking and Radipole park and gardens opposite the nature reserve.

The Weymouth Punch and Judy show is a popular Weymouth attraction as is the Weymouth sandman, generations of Weymouth sandman have used the fine sands of Weymouth beach for their fantastic creations and the current one can be seen on the seafront today.

You can walk along the Weymouth sandy beach from the pier, it turns to pebble as you head further along or if you prefer firmer ground, you can walk along the promenade which provides a footpath all the way along Weymouth seafront to Preston.

Hidden Beaches of Dorset - Worbarrow Bay
Worbarrow Bay is one of the best secret beaches in Dorset - a true hidden gem in Dorset. Totally untouched and unspoilt. Worbarrow along with Tyneham Village was requisitioned in World War 2 and has stayed in a time warp ever since, the beach is accessible with a short walk from Tyneham village when the village is open.

Weymouth events on the beach
There are a number of popular Weymouth events that take place on the beach throughout the year, the Weymouth fireworks bonfire night extravaganza is always a popular event but there are Weymouth firework nights at selected times through the season too. Weymouth carnival and rememberance day parade goes along the seafront and a number of other Weymouth events take place on the beach too including Motocross and the Weymouth dragon boat race.
